After an amazing two months in Eastern Europe in July 2012 we went to Greece. We got invited on another Contiki tour, this time throughout the Greek islands. We began in Athens and made our way through Mykonos, Santorini and Ios, stopping for a few days on each island and exploring all it has to offer. These two weeks were some of the funnest most jam packed times out of the last 6 months of travels. Greece is such a beautiful place, it literally can not be described in words so be sure to check out our pictures above and the three videos below that show all our silly shenanigans on each island.

Ios

This is a very funny read!

*Note: Not for the squeamish.

On the second day of our 4 day wedding festivities, we had eaten some uncooked chicken, and although we didn’t know it at the time, the sickness was setting in.

Day 3 -The Wedding Night:

Got our swag onMust be ill alreadyMagic Fireball

Russia was feeling ill all day. We arrived at Banyan Villa one last time in complete Indian garb (Dhotti’s ‘n shit) and got turban things put on. Then we (grooms side) all drove out to the wedding. When we got there, we parked and got set up down the street. Ashish (the groom) got on a horse and we danced with live musicians into the wedding. It was super cool. Food and drink, yet again, were fantastic (even though there was no booze and all the food was vegetarian).

Towards the end of the night, I started going green. The chicken at the BBQ yesterday had finally caught up with me. As casually as I could, I got up from my seat around the fire, and started for the main entrance to the wedding grounds. My eyes darted from side to side, searching frantically for a closer way out, or a tree or bush to hide behind. No luck. Face as pale as the moon, and mouth salivating like dog before a meal, I hurried for the entrance (or in my case: exit). Time is of the essence here, I know I’m merely seconds away from making it rain all over this wedding. I reached the start of the red carpet and increased my speed, knowing that any moment…

…And then it happens. With one big squeeze, my stomach convulses and the most recent 10 ounces of food and drink that I consumed are propelled from my throat, straight at the back of my lips.  As the liquid is coming up, I keep my mouth closed… mostly. Like water balloons, my cheeks are puffed out to the max, but were still no match for the power of the Salmonella induced convulsion that occurred. Two ounces squirt from my lips, and for a second, time seems to go completely still as it plummets in slow motion, down, down… until shplwhkk (please pronounce as spelled) my projectile vomit strikes the red curtain and the cement below it. I officially just puked on wedding decorations. Luckily for me it was only two ounces over my max capacity. The other 8 ounces were still firmly lodged in the confines of my cheeks. The road I needed to get to was about 12 feet away. Not only that, but there were people there… Indian people… from the wedding… I really don’t want these people to see me puke all over the wedding. I’ve never seen them before and I don’t even speak the same language. I would be SO embarrassed! Just then, my stomach gives its little ‘two-second’ warning that it’s about to convulse again. These people were in the middle of a conversation with a taxi driver or something so I took a sharp left and as I was walking away from the people, it happened. The second wave of inside juices erupted from my stomach, shot through my epiglottis and crashed right into the first wave that was still on standby in my cheeks, and caused both waves to explode out of my mouth like a voracious firehouse of masala tonic. I just kept walking… Approximately every 8 steps, I would let out another stream of puke until I had traveled at least 40 steps. Then I stopped where I was. I was far enough away now, and I let everything else out until I was ready to go back. Apparently I was not seen. We left the wedding shortly after, and I puked two more times on the drive home :(

Thus concludes my night at the wedding. The rest of the night shall be left to your imaginations… It’s a little too graphic for blogs :D

Sundayfundayz came to this country not knowing what to expect. I personally had been told by many people that this place would be full of wonderful people, food, scenery, night life and beaches! To date, they couldn’t have been more correct.

We flew into Athens from Prague and took an expensive taxi to the city’s core. After arriving at our hotel, Russia, Ryker and I went out for a traditional Greek lunch at the base of the Acropolis. In broad daylight we passed a man shooting a needle into his arm. It was f*cked. My first impression of Athens was that it was big, dirty and full of an extremely diverse population.

Standing in front of the House Of Zeus!

After exploring Athens on our own for a couple days, we met up with our new Contiki group and began our Greek Island Hopping Tour. The first few days were full of exploring ancient ruins such as the House of Zeus, the Acropolis/the Parthenon, getting to know our new friends and hanging out at our hotels rooftop pool bar.

On the ferry from Athens to Mykonos

The first island we set sail for was Mykonos. We pulled up to our beach front resort and were checked into our room which was equip with a pool side balcony. Life was tough! This island provided scenic view after scenic view. Our guide Eddie recommended a few activities that we could take part in so we had a plethora of outings to choose from. The first adventure we went on was to hike up Aphrodite’s Boobs. These were two humungous rock formations that stood out of the ocean. We got to the top, took some videos and I noticed a sea turtle swimming in the ocean below! We quickly took advantage of the situation and scaled the steep rock walls and jumped into the sea to swam with the turtle!

Ryker and I throwing rocks into the ocean!

Next we took the high speed ferry to the volcanic island of Santorini. This island was superb. Its famous for its white buildings with blue roofs littering its mountain sides. It is definitely a place you need to go to with a girlfriend. We rode donkeys up the mountains side, had many dinners overlooking crazy sunsets and chilled out in Oia! This was by far the most relaxing Island we visited.

Santorini Sunset!

When we arrived at out hotel in Ios, we were promptly taken to our resort which looked over Far Out Beach. This place was crazy beautiful. We were told that this was an island “full of young tourists and a crazy party environment”. I’d have to say that this statement was 100% correct. The first few days were full of crazy social events, driving ATV’s, pirate boat cruises, hanging out at the pool, going to bars, dinners and clubs. The day I was most excited for was the third day on the island, July the 18th. This is the day I turned 24. I casually woke up after a saucy night and took the shuttle bus to the beach where I consumed a huge lunch to prepare for the day to come. One drink, two drink, three drink… Ahhh… My new friends as well as the other Sundayfundayz boys bombarded me with celebratory beverages. We then walked across the road to the beach and duck taped the GoPro Camera onto Parkers head in preparation for “Mach 2 Extreme Tubing”. This was absolutely insane. We all ended up being bucked off the tubes within the 25 minute experience. After the final dinner on this mental island, we hit the clubs. What a gongshow.

Tubing On My Birthday!

These four places blew my mind (especially the islands). They were all quite different from one another and provided everyone who was accompanying us while traveling with something to do. Greece was one of my top three countries I have visited this far and I will definitely be adventuring back there sometime soon!

Yes! That’s right, 7 days 3 amazing capital cities! We were invited to go on a Contiki tour that also doubled as a press trip. It was a great chance to hang out with a lot of like minded people in the media industry and make some awesome collaborations and friendships. The trip was incredibly fast paced and jam-packed with activities. We did sooo much stuff in such a short period of time that it was almost overwhelming.

Check out our favorite 100 photos from this incredible trip above! Click on any particular image for a full description. Also check out the video below for a full rcap of this adventure.

We flew out of the Ukraine and into Hungary on the fifteenth of June. Sundayfundayz was ecstatic as we had been told that this country was the home of magnificent architecture, a distinctive culture and tons of vibrant nightlife. En route to downtown Budapest, we passed numerous different districts which presented us with a variety of activities to take part in for the duration of our stay. The most memorable place we passed was a skate park with a few rails, quarter pipes, some fun boxes, a bowl and a few sets of stairs. After being in South East Asia and Ukraine for many months, I hadn’t experienced or even really thought about skating, so this encounter brought back many childhood memories. This is when it occurred to me that buying my own skateboard would be a fantastic idea for many different reasons. We could improve our skills, get exercise and it would give us the ability to improve the way we film our videos. Oh, and it’s super fun! After presenting my idea to the other three, Parker enthusiastically stated that “yes, of course [he would] buy one!”

On our way to downtown Budapest via public transportation!

We woke up after a night out on the town and decided we should head out into the thirty-two degree Celsius heat to sweat out the toxins we had consumed. Parker, Ryker and I ended up running for about an hour and fifteen minutes, with only a short stop where we explored a gigantic shopping mall. This is where we found a skate shop, however all of the shops were closed, so Parker and I were forced to return the following day.

Walking into the shop was an unforgettable experience. The two of us were radiating excitement, as if we were kids in a candy shop. After picking out the decks, trucks, wheels and bearings, we once again officially became skateboarders! Both of us had massive grins on our faces while leaving the mall and skating back to our hostel. It had been years since I had ollied, manuelled, or zipped through a crowded sidewalk on a skateboard.

Parker with our new boards!

Max trying out his new board!

We spent our evening out in front of our guesthouse, in the “Old Jewish District” where we honed our skills by practicing ollies, kick flips, varial flips, manuals, pop shove-its, shove-its, 180′s and an assortment of other tricks. The following day we hung out at the skatepark downtown Budapest. It was awesome to hang out with the locals and watch some really talented skaters, rollerbladers and BMXers throw down. We both skated back to our bunkbeds that night and agreed that our day had been packed full of excitement, enjoyment and exercise.

Pec practicing his boardslides at the skatepark

Since then, we have pushed and kicked our way around Vienna and Prague. I’m stoked that the use of the skateboards has not been limited to just Parker and myself. Since departing from Budapest, we have all used the skateboards for filming our videos on a number of occasions (both as props in our film and for getting silky smooth shots).

Buying these skateboards was an unreal idea and gives us a new opportunity to enjoy the streets of new cities, make friends, exercise and film. Although these luxury items add a few pounds to our backpacks and are awkward to carry around, they were a fantastic investment!
